About Boston Presidential Scholarship
The Presidential Scholarship is awarded by the Board of Admissions to about 3% of entering first-year students who demonstrate extraordinary academic success each year. Presidential Scholars are among the most academically gifted students. This $20,000 (INR 15,10,770) tuition grant can be renewed for up to four years of undergraduate study at Boston University.
The recipients will get a monetary award of $25,000 USD (INR 18,86,498). It can be used for up to four years of undergraduate study and is renewable. Students must submit their official SAT or ACT examination results. Statements of Purpose and Letters of Recommendation play an important role in the selection process. Boston Presidential Scholarship is awarded to first year students by the Board of Admissions. It is one of the most coveted rewards accessible to all first-year international students.

Applicants must meet the following qualifying conditions to be considered for the Boston Presidential Scholarship:
- Either a native or overseas student must apply.

Presidential Scholars are selected from a pool of roughly 15 students. Students who are accepted as Presidential Scholars at BC remain in the programme for the duration of their four years at BC as long as they maintain a 3.5 GPA and act as model citizens in the BC community. The programme currently has 60 Scholars.

Yes. Only undergraduate freshmen are eligible for this scholarship. Only bachelor’s degree applicants will be considered. Students who are in the process of transferring are not eligible.
Presidential Scholars are awarded a merit scholarship that pays the entire cost of their education at BC, regardless of financial need. Scholars receive additional grant and aid resources sufficient to fulfil full need if the merit award does not meet their financial aid criteria. A separate reward covers the expense of summer programmes.
Freshman Scholars are assigned to various locations on campus and are completely integrated with the rest of the freshman class. Scholars choose their housemates after their freshman year, and many Scholars do become roommates. Presidential Scholars are provided on-campus residence for four years.
Studying abroad is encouraged for Presidential Scholars. With over 40 international collaborations, Boston College has a well-established study abroad programme. Scholars who enrol in a Boston College-run study abroad programme will continue to be eligible for all of their BC financial aid, as well as any state and federal help they may be qualified for.
