This action-comedy was directed by Doug Liman and narrated the story of a bored husband and wife who are assassins in competing agencies and are given the job to eliminate each other. Brad Pitt delivers an exceptional performance but Jolie manages to outshine him in the movie. Although It’s not the hardest role she’s ever had to pull off, she manages to perform exceptionally well in this action-comedy as well.

A Mighty Heart that was released in 2007 stars Angelina Jolie as a mixed-race Mariane Pearl. She plays the wife of a Wall Street Journal reporter, Daniel Pearl. Angelina Jolie yet again gives her best performance as Tigress. Although her character is tough as nails but exudes a vulnerable softness that could be pulled off by Jolie only.

Through this movie, Jolie earned her first Academy Award for acting. It can be said that this movie is a quintessential Angelina Jolie movies. The movie revolves around the story of a girl who lives in a mental institution, although this character is not played by Jolie. It is surprising to note that Angelina Jolie is not the main character of the movie yet she is a very notable character in the movie and it’s because she plays such a charismatic role in this movie. Her role is that of a sociopath who gets what she wants because of her charms, and she ultimately forms a bond with Winona Rider’s character that is both icky and sweet. She was awarded the Best Supporting Actress award that year for her role in this movie.

Wanted released in 2008 is one of the best action movies of Jolie. Jolie plays the role of Fox, an assassin who mentors an account manager to become an assassin in a secret group known as “The Fraternity”. It can be said that this movie of Jolie is the epitome of action films.
