About BA Hindi
Bachelor of Arts in Hindi, also known as BA Hindi, is a 3-year undergraduate course in Hindi. This course is basically an introduction to the fundamental aspects of the Hindi language and literature. This course aims to teach various aspects of the language by introducing them to various literary works. A course in BA Hindi provides exposure to the rich heritage of this language as well as delves deeper into the study of linguistics, applied grammar, translation and vast literature in Hindi.

Eligibility Criteria
The minimum eligibility criteria for applicants who want to pursue this course include
- The students should have completed 10+2 from a recognized board and should have opted for Hindi as a compulsory language.
- Most colleges require an aggregate of 50% marks in their 10+2. The percentage limit for the University of Delhi and its affiliated colleges is an aggregate of 45% to be eligible for this course.
- It is not mandatory that the applicants complete their 12 from the arts stream to be eligible for this course.

Admission Process
In several universities, admission to the BA Hindi program is direct i.e.: based on your score in 10+2 and seats are allotted on the basis of the cut-off method. Some universities, however, resort to institutional entrance tests and personal interviews to shortlist students for their undergraduate programs. Some of the common university entrance exams for BA Hindi include:
- BHU UET: It is an undergraduate test conducted by Benaras Hindu University. It is conducted in both online as well as offline mode.
- JSAT – JSAT is conducted by the JGU as a screening test. It is an online exam with 120 questions and a 3-hour duration. The MCQs covers Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Ability with no negative marking.
- JNUEE- is the entrance test for Jawaharlal Nehru University and contains both subjective and objective questions (depending on the program) and is a 3-hour long test.
