The All India Bar Examination (AIBE) is a national level certification-level exam meant for law graduates and is considered to be a compulsory step to obtain membership of the Bar Council of India and get recognized as a practising lawyer. AIBE Eligibility Criteria 2022

The Bar Council of India has set certain prerequisites for candidates planning to appear for the AIBE exam and these eligibility requirements are as follows:

  • Educational Background: The candidate must have completed graduation from a recognized university with minimum 55% marks. 
  • Bar Council Registration: Every state has its own bar council and the applicant is required to register with the particular Bar Council of their state.
  • Professional Requirements: The candidate must hold a law degree from a recognized institute.
  • Age Limit: There is no upper or lower age limit for appearing in the exam.

AIBE Exam Pattern 2022

AIBE Syllabus mainly consists of 19 law subjects which are cleared by The Bar Council of India (BCI) for the exam. There are a total of 100 MCQs in the exam carrying one mark each and there is no negative marking for any question.

Steps to Fill AIBE 2022 Application Form

Following steps will guide you to fill the online application form for AIBE 2022 Exam:

  1. First, the candidates have to register themselves on the official website for AIBE XVI.
  2. Fill the required details in the application form of AIBE.
  3. Upload the official documents as required.
  4. Select a suitable language for giving AIBE and the test centre.
  5. Pay the application fee.
  6. You have to then check the fee payment status on online mode and upload the challan.
  7. Now submit the completely filled AIBE XVI application form on the website.

Application Fee:

  • The application fee is non-refundable in nature.

All India Bar Examination 2022 Admit Card

For the AIBE XV 2020 exam, the Bar Council of India (BCI) released the admit cards. Candidates can download their respective admit cards via their details like registration ID and date of birth (DOB) and can hence log in. Sometimes dates may also vary for some centres as well. 

AIBE COP

If the candidate clears the AIBE 2022 exam with respect to set parameters such as qualifying marks and eligibility criteria, the qualifying candidate will be issued a COP or the Certificate of Practice by the Bar Council of India (BCI). With the issue of this COP, the qualifying candidate will be made eligible to practice law and also continue association with the state bar council. The COP will mention the following details:

  • COP Number
  • Candidate’s Name
  • Candidate’s Roll Number
  • Candidate’s Father Name
  • Enrollment Number

Exam Centres 

There are a total of 44 test centres across India where the AIBE exam is conducted. The candidates can choose the exam centre of their choice, however, it cannot be changed once you have submitted the application form.
